TAMPA, Fla. - Have you ever watched rowers gliding along the surface of the water and wished you could do that? Now you can!
The Stewards classes are designed to give everyone a taste of rowing. Except having the ability to swim, you need no other previous athletic experience. Anyone over the age of 12 is welcome to try the sport. (Parents must accompany anyone under 18, please)
"Rowing is a lifetime sport. It is low impact, fun and is highly competitive,” notes Tom Feaster, a member of the Board of Directors of US Rowing, the Sport’s national governing board. Mr. Feaster will serve as a coach for this program. He will be joined by Steve White, Director of Rowing for the Stewards Foundation; Berkeley Prep Head Rowing Coach Mike Smith and the Stewards Foundation Head Coach David Spraker.
During your lesson novices will learn how to handle a boat and oars, experience the parts of the stroke on a rowing machine, and then get out on the water. All those who would like to continue with the sport are encouraged to join our Middle School, High School or Masters programs based on your individual situations.
Reservations for a class are on a first come- first serving basis and are limited to one lesson per person so please choose the date that you wish to attend. To sign up for this class, please contact Coach Steve White at (813) 505-2666 or email firstname.lastname@example.org . Please visit www.RowTampa.com.
