TAMPA, FL - On Tuesday, December 17 at 3:30 p.m., the Glazer Family Foundation and Buccaneers cornerback JOHNTHAN BANKS, along with his teammates, Buccaneers Cheerleaders, the Tampa Bay Sports Commission, and Elder Ford of Tampa, will visit the Lealman Sports Complex in St. Petersburg (3755 46th Ave. North, St Petersburg, FL 33714) to present athletic equipment to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Police Athletic League. The sports equipment was donated by fans for the REPLAY TAMPA BAY sporting good drive, which kicked off on December 8 before the Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Buffalo Bills home game at Raymond James Stadium, and continues through December 28 at various collection locations in Tampa.
This is the third consecutive year for the Replay Tampa Bay drive, encouraging members of the community to assist local kids in need throughout the holiday season by donating new or gently used sporting goods at a designated drive location. Both the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Charities and Pinellas Sheriff's Police Athletic League are benefitting from the community's donations and will assist in distributing the donated items at their respective headquarters.
In 2012, over 600 items were collected for children in need, bringing the total to almost 1,000 donated items since its inception in 2011. For more information, including details on Replay Tampa Bay donation locations through December 28, log on to www.tampabaysports.org.
