Stars Head-Up IRT Florida Spring Break Pro Am

TAMPA, Fla. – Seven-time No.1-ranked World Racquetball Champion, Kane Waselenchuk, who has achieved one of the longest winning streaks in professional sports history (three years), will compete in the Florida Spring Break ProAm held from Wednesday, March 6 through Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the Harbour Island Athletic Club & Spa. Attendees will watch Waselenchuk compete in a sport demanding competitors to jump and dive to match ball speeds reaching almost 200 mph inside an 800-square foot clear-walled court.

In addition to the top men’s professional players, more than 250 athletes from seven countries and over 20 U.S. States will be competing for prize money and awards in this USA Racquetball-sanctioned event. Up to 17 matches will take place simultaneously at five Tampa clubs with the pros playing at Harbour Island Athletic Club & Spa, 900 S. Harbour Island Blvd, Tampa. Founded in 1990, the men’s professional International Racquetball Tour (IRT) features 300 players competing in over 20 Top-Tier and more than 50 Satellite Tournaments in Latin America, the United States, and Canada. Sanctioned as a NCAA sport, this tournament will also draw amateur and college entrants. The amateur players compete in divisions ranging from beginner to open level for both singles and doubles.
