TAMPA, Fla. - Have you ever watched rowers glide along the surface of the Hillsborough River and wished you could do that? Starting in December, you can!
The Stewards Foundation, Inc. will conduct an Adult Rowing Class beginning December 1st, 2012. The Class will consist of ten (10) lessons during a four -week period. The classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:15 PM and Saturdays at 10:00 AM. The Schedule dates are as follows: December 1, 4, 6, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, and 22.
The adult classes are designed to give everyone a taste of rowing. Except for having the ability to swim, you need no other previous athletic experience.
“Rowing is a lifetime sport. It is low impact, fun and can be highly competitive,” notes Tom Feaster, a director of US Rowing, the Sport’s national governing board.
During these ten lessons, novices will learn how to handle a boat and oars, experience the parts of the stroke on a rowing machine, and then glide on the water. The fee for the entire set of classes is $300.00 and is to be paid to The Stewards Foundation, Inc. prior to the first lesson. The Stewards Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 charitable corporation.
Reservations are on a first come, first serve basis and space is limited. To sign up for this class, please contact Stewards coaching staff via our web site www.RowTampa.com or (813) 334-9443 . You can also email BradfordGStevens@gmail.com.
