TAMPA, Fla. - City League International is coming to the Florida State Fairgrounds, Tampa, Florida on December 5, 2009 at 7 pm where it will hold the 2009 Grand Prix Team Show Jumping Finale. The event is best described as a cross between the exciting speed of horse racing, with the sheer daring and danger of downhill ski-racing. It is a sport where the horse has the power, the rider has the control, and women and men compete as equals.
The teams will be competing for $25,000 in prize money which will require them to clear a course of obstacles nearing 5′ in height and better than 6′ wide. And if completing the course is not challenging enough, some riders will answer the crowd’s cheers and attempt to clear the Lucky High Jump – a jump that is so immense that the horses can run under it instead of over it!
Come support your favorite team, and be a part of this new and exciting sport. Arrive early to enjoy the pony rides and vendor exposition, and stay until to the end for the opportunity to meet the riders and pet the horses.
Tickets are $15.00 for adults and $5.00 for children. They can be purchased at the door the night of the event, or online at cityleagueinternational.com. Check out the website for ticket discounts, and team updates.
