TAMPA, FL --With a new college football season set to kick-off, the Tampa Bay Sports Commission, in conjunction with the College Football Playoff, are proud to unveil theCountdown to the Championship Luncheon, a special event that will offer community partners insight into what to expect come January when Tampa Bay becomes the third-ever host of the College Football Playoff National Championship and the first site in the Southeast United States.
The Luncheon will be held on Thursday, September 22 at the Hilton Tampa Downtown beginning at 11:30 a.m., and will feature guest speakers, including College Football Playoff Chief Operating Officer, Michael Kelly, as well as other local business and community leaders.
The Luncheon will take place within College Football Playoff Foundation's Extra Yard for Teachers' Awareness Week, as speakers will highlight the positive impact the College Football Playoff will have on our education community. The event will also spotlight the highly anticipated Florida State University vs. University of South Florida showdown at Raymond James Stadium on Saturday, September 24.
Beginning Monday, August 8, A limited number of tables will be available for the public to purchase at TampaBay2017.com, the official Tampa Bay Sports Commission website dedicated to the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship. Individual tickets are $75 and tables of 10 can be purchased for $500.
"The Countdown to the Championship Luncheon is a can't-miss event - one we encourage college football and community supporters to attend as we provide critical updates on this historic event for the Tampa Bay area," said Rob Higgins, Executive Director of the Tampa Bay Sports Commission. "College Football Playoff staff, along with leaders from our host committee efforts will share their insight to this upcoming National Championship celebration in our hometown."
