NCAA® Frozen Four® Fans Will Be Able to Earn Rewards Through Reinvented Social Rewards Program and Scavenger Hunt

TAMPA, FL - As part of the excitement surrounding the NCAA Men’s Frozen Four’s return to Tampa Bay in April, the Tampa Bay Sports Commission, Visit Tampa Bay and Amalie Arena have teamed up with full-service interactive agency Thuzi to create an all-encompassing social rewards program for the Frozen Four, called “Frozen Four Social Rewards”.

This groundbreaking social media rewards program, which originally debuted during the 2012 NCAA Men’s Frozen Four in Tampa Bay, incentivizes social media users to be active on their social media platforms leading up to and during the 2016 NCAA Men’s Frozen Four, while also partaking in a “social scavenger hunt” throughout the week of the event.

“We’re excited to reward college hockey fans for being active on social media and offer them the opportunity to share their Frozen Four experience like never before,” said Rob Higgins, executive director of the Tampa Bay Sports Commission. “We saw tremendous participation when we activated a similar program during the 2012 Frozen Four and believe this enhanced platform will take us to a new level in 2016.”

By engaging on social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, users will earn points by completing various tasks. Users will have the chance to win tangible merchandise, including lapel pins, commemorative hockey pucks, polos and more. Experiences are also attainable based off point accumulation, such as access to a behind the scenes tour of the Amalie Arena. One grand prize winner will be drawn from eligible participants to enjoy the 2016 NCAA Men’s Frozen Four national championship game from on-the-glass seats (first two rows).

Those who participate in this year’s social rewards program will also receive exclusive access to a customized social calendar for marquee Frozen Four moments, including, but not limited to team welcomes, Amalie Arena red carpet arrivals, autograph sessions and the trophy presentation.

In addition to the social media rewards contest, a real time social media response component will be available through Twitter by using @HockeyRewards throughout Frozen Four week. This initiative is designed to assist visitors and social media users with any questions they may have related to the program.
